When asked why they were not likely to celebrate Valentine's Day in 2022, a whopping two-thirds of individuals in the Netherlands said that it felt too much like a commercial/marketing event. Moreover, about a quarter of Dutch people said that it was just not part of their culture or something that they traditionally did. That year, the majority of people surveyed stated that they were not likely to partake in any Valentine's Day celebrations.
