In a survey conducted in January 2022, Meta (formerly Facebook) was the brand most associated with the metaverse according to 45 percent of surveyed adults in the United States. Overall, 22 percent of respondents said that they most associated Google with the metaverse and 19 percent selected Oculus, Meta's subsidiary that produces VR headsets. In addition, one in ten respondents most associated Disney with the metaverse and eight percent most associated music streaming platform Spotify.
