In 2023, Lithuania's power sector carbon intensity amounted to approximately 160 grams of carbon dioxide per kilowatt-hour (gCO₂/KWh) of electricity generated. From 2000 to 2009, the carbon intensity of Lithuania's power sector oscillated between 71 and 110 gCO₂/KWh, but in 2010 increased by roughly 252 percent compared with the previous year, to a record high of 368 gCO₂/KWh. The power sector's carbon intensity has been on a mostly downward trend since.
