Nigeria led the goat meat production in Africa as of 2020. The country produced over 261 thousand metric tons of goat meat that year. Ethiopia and Chad followed, each with a production volume of 148 thousand and 132 thousand metric tons, respectively. The countries had the largest goat stock in Africa that same year.
