Four out of ten Russians aged over 45 years did not approve of the introduction of food certificates for poor people proposed by the president Vladimir Putin, according to a survey from February 2021. To compare, more than one half of participants younger than 30 were ready to support the suggestion.

The survey was conducted among the economically active citizens in 374 settlements of Russia .
The original survey question was worded as follows: "В. Путин предложил Госдуме обсудить введение продовольственных сертификатов на продукты питания для малоимущих. Одобряете ли вы данную инициативу?"
