South Africa led the chicken meat production in Africa as of 2020. The country produced nearly 1.9 million metric tons of poultry meat that year. Egypt followed, with a production volume of 1.3 million metric tons. Morocco, which had the largest poultry stock in Africa, registered an output of 821.5 thousand metric tons of chicken meat.
