According to a survey conducted in July 2019 in Bahrain, about 55 percent of the respondents stated that they would consider car-as-a-service next time they are in the market for a new vehicle. On the contrary, 17 percent of the respondents stated that they didn't understand what car-as-a-service was.

Original survey question: 'Next time you are in the market for a new vehicle, would you consider a car-as-a-service (CaaS) model if available?'
The term Caas was defined in the survey as a flexible model where customers 'subscribe' to a car using a monthly fee instead of owning it, usually for a period of 24-36 months. The service is all-inclusive - customers do not have to pay for or manage insurance, maintenance and other services, sometimes even fuel.
