Denmark's power sector produced 151.7 grams of carbon dioxide per kilowatt-hour (gCO₂/KWh) of electricity generated in 2023, the lowest level this century. The decrease in Denmark's carbon intensity has coincided with the country's increased share of renewable energy use in its power mix, which has grown from 15.5 percent in 2000 to more than 80 percent today.
