Countries with the largest goat population in Africa 2022
Nigeria had the largest goat population in Africa as of 2022, roughly 88 million heads. Ethiopia and Chad followed, each with a goat stock of 49 million and 46 million heads, respectively. That same year, Africa had over 506 million heads of goats, one of the major species raised for livestock farming in the continent.
