Countries with the largest poultry population in Africa 2022
Egypt had the largest chicken livestock in Africa as of 2022, at 300 million heads. Nigeria followed, with a poultry stock of roughly 249 million heads. That same year, Africa had around 2.4 billion live chickens, the major species raised for livestock farming in the continent.
