In 2020, the most common comorbidity among people treated for psychotic disorders in France was another psychiatric illness. The prevalence of such comorbidities among people treated for psychotic disorders reached roughly 40 percent during that year. Furthermore, one out of ten people treated for psychotic disorders in France also suffered from diabetes.

Pathology definition algorithm: People with a long-term condition during the year 2020 with ICD-10 codes of schizophrenia, schizotypal disorder, persistent delusional disorder, acute and transient psychotic disorder, induced delusional disorder, schizoaffective disorder, other inorganic psychotic disorder, unspecified inorganic psychosis, and/or people hospitalized for these same reasons - in a non-psychiatric health establishment (MCO (medicine, surgery, obstetrics) (diagnosis main or related), and/or Follow-up and Rehabilitation Care (main morbid manifestation, etiological condition)), and/or psychiatric (main or associated diagnosis) – and/or people hospitalized for these same reasons - in a non-psychiatric health establishment (MCO (main, related or associated diagnosis, or main or linked to one of the Medical Unit Summaries)), and/or Follow-up and Rehabilitation Care (main morbid manifestation, etiological condition or associated diagnosis)), and/or psychiatric (main or associated diagnosis) - And having received at least 3 dispensations of neuroleptics or a medicinal product whose ATC code (Anatomical, Therapeutic and Chemical classification) begins with N05A, with the exception of lithium-based specialties (used as thymoregulator) and Neuriplège® (muscle relaxant).
