As of June 30, 2021, Mexico had a total of 23 issuers of green, social, and sustainable (GSS) bonds. So far, 2020 was the best year for the market of green bonds in the country and the highest number of issuers was also for green bonds, around 12. On the other hand, social bonds had a much smaller share with only 3 issuers. Green, social, and sustainable (GSS) bonds are fixed-income instruments which finance projects that have a positive impact on environmental and social sustainability.
