The value of green bonds issued worldwide increased dramatically in the last few years. In 2014, green bonds worth 37 billion U.S. were issued. In 2021, this figure peaked at approximately 594 billion U.S. dollars, and decreased slightly in 2022 and 2023, when green bonds issued amounted to 510 billion and 588 billion U.S. dollars.
