Global production of diammonium phosphate 2022, by region

East Asia was by far the region that registered the highest production of diammonium phosphate (DAP) in 2022. In that year, production in the region reached 13 million metric tons, roughly 150.6 percent higher than Africa, the second leading region in diammonium phosphate production worldwide. The global production of DAP amounted to 33.5 million metric tons in 2022. Diammonium phosphate has a 15 to 18 percent nitrogen content and is mainly produced by reacting phosphoric acid with ammonia.
