The share of the indigenous population in Mexico that had an average per capita income below the poverty line reached 39.4 percent in 2022. In comparison to the beginning of the analyzed period, this represents a decrease of 34.9 percentage points. That year Mexico had one of the highest share of indigenous population living in poverty in Latin America.
