According to a Chinese survey conducted in December 2020, fatigue, pressure, and anxiety almost became a universal emotional problem, as more than nine in ten respondents experienced these issues within six months before the survey. Other negative emotions were also widespread, with almost half reporting desperation, and close to three fourth reporting loneliness.

26 percent of the respondents were male, while 74 percent were female.
14 percent of respondents were born before 1980, 27 percent between 1980 and 1990, 26 percent between 1990 and 1995, 27 percent between 1995 and 2000, 7 percent after 2000.
