In 2020, the shipment volume of smart projectors in China amounted to 3.72 million units. According to the estimate, the number of projectors was forecasted to reach almost 4.8 million units in 2021. In the past years, DLP had been the dominating technology, but in 2021 LCD projectors had caught up and already accounted for 45 percent of the market. In general, LCD projectors create a better image quality, but DLP projectors are lighter, smaller, and more reliable.
