As of October 2022, almost one third of Xiaohongshu's users lived in new tier-1 cities and above in China. The social commerce platform, also known in English as Little Red Book or RED, was the most valued e-commerce and direct-to-consumer unicorn worldwide with a valuation of about 20 billion U.S. dollars as of October 2022.
