The majority of Japanese consumers purchased pork and poultry at least once per week as revealed in a survey conducted in October 2023. While the largest share of respondents, almost 35 percent, bought pork and 35.5 percent bought poultry products on average once per week, only 22.2 percent of consumers purchased beef with the same frequency.
