Gibier sales volume in Japan FY 2017-2022
In fiscal year 2022, the sales volume of game meat in Japan amounted to around 1,996 tons. Figures increased compared to the previous fiscal year, impacted by businesses reopening following the relaxation of restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic. Game meat from wild animals hunted in Japan has to be prepared at certified processors before it can be distributed in the meat market.
