The Opéra national de Paris, also known simply as the Opéra de Paris, operates in two locations in the French capital: the Palais Garnier and the Opéra Bastille, located in the ninth and 12th arrondissements of Paris, respectively. During the 2019/2020 season, the number of tickets sold by the Opéra National de Paris dropped considerably to 355 thousand against the previous season's 881 thousand. This decrease was a direct consequence of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic which forced a large number of cultural venues to close their doors for several months.
