The share of original series streamed on SVOD platforms was higher than the share of minutes streamed in the United States in 2021. A survey found that nearly three in four of series streamed were original content, while the time spent watching own productions of subscription video-on-demand services was lower, at a share of 45 percent.

Based on aggregate viewership of the weekly top 10 most viewed acquired and original series on SVOD services (as determined by Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings). SVOD services measured were Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu.
