According to a survey conducted in South Korea in January 2022, about 32 percent of respondents said that South Korea's next president must boost the economy and solve the country's real estate problem. Appropriate policy responses to the COVID-19 pandemic were also an important topic for South Koreans, with a response share of about 15 percent. South Korea's 20th presidential election will be held on March 9, 2022. South Korea's president is elected directly for a five-year term. The president is not eligible for re-election.
