The share of Russians who preferred to purchase bread and bakery products produced domestically exceeded 90 percent in 2021. To compare, about one half of food shoppers in the country favored imported fresh fruits and vegetables.

* The respondents were able to choose among the following answer options: Western Europe (France, Germany, Switzerland, etc.), Northern Europe (United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Baltic counties, etc.), Southern Europe (Spain, Italy, Greece, etc.), Eastern Europe (Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, etc.) and CIS countries, North America (USA, Canada, Mexico), South America (Brazil, Argentina, Chili, Ecuador, etc.), Australia and Oceania, Africa, Asia.
The respondents were able to choose up to three answer options.
Methodology: a multistage and stratified sample of Russian population by gender, age, and the type of population center – representing eight federal districts, 46 regions, and more than 200 population centers.
