Between 2019 and 2023, the highest volume of mergers and acquisition (M&A) deals in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa was seen in the second half of 2021, with 5,634 deals. The highest value, however, was seen in the second half of 2023, amounting to over 700 billion U.S. dollars. By contrast, the first half of 2020 saw the lowest number of deals, approximately 7,000. This also amounted to a deal value of 355 billion U.S. dollard.
