Around 917,000 people in Israel were aged four years or younger in 2022. This age group was the largest in the country, followed by individuals aged 5-9 years. These made up a group of roughly 906,000 inhabitants. Although the younger age groups were the biggest that year, the number of senior citizens was also relatively high, with some 1.2 million people older than 65 years.
