According to a survey carried out in January 2022, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, the president of the Community of Madrid, was the most preferred politician to lead the conservative party People's Party (Partido Popular or PP in Spanish) among voters of most political parties in Spain. Ayuso is particularly liked among conservative voters, namely, those of her own party, Ciudadanos (Cs) and the far-right Vox.
On the contrary, the current leader of the People's Party, Pablo Casado, has more sympathizers among left-wing-voters. More than half of Unidas Podemos (UP) party members showed their preferrence for Casado over Díaz Ayuso.
