According to a survey carried out in January 2022, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, the president of the Community of Madrid, was the most preferred politician of the conservative party People's Party (Partido Popular or PP in Spanish) among the party's own voters. Only 28% of the party members favored Pablo Casado as the leader. Nevertheless, another survey revealed that more people preferred Casado as president of the Spanish government than Díaz Ayuso.
