Organic soybean production share Japan FY 2015-2019
In fiscal year 2019, organic soybeans accounted for 0.6 percent of total soybeans production in Japan. The share increased in recent years, but remained below one percent.
Agricultural produces distributed as organic foods in Japan have to be certified under the Organic Japanese Agricultural Standards (JAS) system or a comparable system in the case of imported products. The certification is done by auditors accredited by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
