In 2021, the HBO Max app saw 97 percent more downloads in the United States than in 2020. The mobile application for popular video platform YouTube reported an 18 percent year-over-year increase in downloads from users in the U.S. in the same period. TikTok, which was the most downloaded mobile app in the U.S. in 2021, saw a six percent increase in downloads from users in the country compared to the previous year. By comparison, the mobile app for video conferencing tool Zoom had around 36 percent fewer downloads compared to 2020.
