The number of straight-to-streaming movie premieres grew from the first to the fourth quarter of 2020 in the United States, regardless of platform type. Over 220 straight-to-streaming movies were released on subscription video-on-demand platforms in the fourth quarter of 2020, while transactional video-on-demand (TVOD) services had 196 premieres during this period. In general, the number SVOD premieres surpassed that of TVOD premieres irrespective of the time period.
