Organic agriculture occupied an area of nearly 287 thousand hectares in Tunisia as of 2018. The country had the largest organic farming land in Africa, according to the data gathered in 2021 by the source. Tanzania and Ethiopia followed. These countries had around 280 thousand and 220 thousand hectares of land being used for the same purpose. Overall, Africa had more than two million hectares of organic agricultural area in 2019.
