According to a 2021 survey, social networks and messaging have become the preferred channels for mobile shopping in Ecuador, used by 34 percent and 33 percent of online buyers, respectively. Meanwhile, 18 percent of respondents favored web-based mobile shopping, compared to 15 percent for apps.
