A survey showed that in the third quarter of 2021 population aged 65 years or older in Ecuador was the group with the highest percentage of work in the informal sector, with 78 percent. The age group that featured the lowest rate was those between 25 to 34 years old, totaling 38 percent. Regarding gender, women had a larger share of informal employment than men.
