COVID-19 booster shot rate in Italy November 2023, by age group
During autumn 2021, Italian authorities started administering booster shots of coronavirus vaccines to the population in order to improve the general protection against the virus, using either Pfizer or Moderna vaccines. As of November 20, 2023, roughly 70.2 percent of the population over 12 years old have received a booster vaccination. This statistic breaks down these figures by age of the vaccinated. In the age group 80+, the one most vulnerable to the virus, around 89.3 percent of the individuals received a third shot. The region achieving the highest booster dose coverage was Lombardy.
