Household out-of-pocket health spending in Cuba 2010-2020
Household spending on health in Cuba increased by about 90 percent from 2010 to 2020. That year, household out-of-pocket health expenditure amounted to nearly 1.2 billion U.S. dollars. The figures showed an overall increasing trend during the period analyzed, with values ranging between 631 million U.S. dollars at the beginning of the decade and peaked at over 1.2 billion U.S. dollars in 2019. As of 2022, the estimated current health expenditure in Cuba was equivalent to 10.83 percent of its GDP.
