Samuel Eto'o, the Cameroonian footballer, was the all time leading goal top scorer in the African Cup of Nations history scoring 18 goals. Laurent Pokou (Côte d'Ivoire) and Rasheed Yekini (Nigeria) followed each managing 14 and 13 goals, respectively. The Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is organized once every two years, with the 2022's edition taking place in Cameroon. In particular, Vincent Aboubakar won the golden boot for the 2022 tournment after scoring eight goals, to increase his overall number of goals to nine.
