Forecasts showed that the total population of luxury consumers in China would reach 5.4 million in 2021, and around 55 percent of the luxury consumers would spend less than 10,000 yuan on luxury goods a year. China's top luxury spenders, referring to those who spent more than 200,000 yuan a year on luxury items, only accounted for seven percent of the luxury consumers but contributed to 38 percent of the total luxury sales.
