As of December 2021, survival game Rust had sold 12.4 million units. Initially released in Steam's Early Access program in December 2013, the multiplayer-only title had already generated more than one million unit sales in February 2014. Rust was fully released for PC in February 2018 and was also published for consoles in May 2021. The game is also one of the most popular games on Twitch worldwide with a peak audience of 1.37 million concurrent viewers.
