In 2020, the Middle East and Africa was the region of the world with the highest share of live streamers, with 38 percent of its online population using social channels to broadcast various activities live. The Asia-Pacific region followed, with 35 percent of internet users creating live content. China, which has pioneered the use of live streaming in the online entertainment and e-commerce sectors, reportedly saw 10 percent of its digital population broadcasting live.
