Number of reported cases of measles in Africa 2002-2020
In 2020, over 1155 thousand cases of measles, a highly contagious viral disease, were reported in Africa. In the preceding year, a relatively higher count of approximately 618.6 thousand infections was registered. During the period in review, the number of cases has varied greatly, peaking in 2019. On the other hand, the lowest number was achieved in 2016, with around 36.3 thousand cases being reported.
