According to a survey among real estate investors, grocery shops, supermarkets, and convenience stores are the most popular types of retail properties for investment in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. Approximately 63 percent of the surveyed investors who were interested in investing in retail real estate in 2022 were pursuing investment in this type of properties. In comparison, only four percent were looking for out of town or shopping mall investments.
