Nigeria produced over 2,500 films in 2020. With Nollywood, its booming film industry, the country recorded the largest movie production in Africa. In comparison, Ghana produces some 600 films per year, according to the source's estimates. In Kenya, the film industry may reach 500 productions annually - the same estimate for Tanzania. On average, Africa produced 5,500 films per year, according to the source's report conducted between November 2020 and May 2021.
