In the year 2020, the market size of branded and traditional chain-affiliated hotel rooms in India reached more than 146 thousand rooms, and almost 60 percent of the room inventory were positioned in the budget to upper mid-market categories. Back in 2000, the prominent categories of hotel rooms, however, ranged between upscale and luxury.
