In the year 2020 to 2021, the market size of branded and traditional chain-affiliated hotel rooms in India reached more than 146 thousand rooms, across budget to luxury categories. In the mid 1990s, there were around 18.2 thousand rooms and the number of rooms have increased over eightfold in the past 25 years.
