According to a survey conducted on disaster prevention in Japan in 2021, close to 40 percent of respondents stated that they did not prepare any measures in case of a natural disaster over the past two to three years. This was followed by close to 38 percent of respondents who mentioned that they checked hazard maps and shelters in preparation for natural disasters.
