According to a survey conducted in September 2021, around 20 percent of consumers in Taiwan preferred to receive their 5,000 Taiwanese dollar shopping vouchers via credit cards. In comparison, more than 45 percent of respondents said they prefer to get the paper vouchers. Aiming at stimulating the post-epidemic economy, the Taiwan government rolled out several rounds of stimulus voucher programs in 2020 and 2021.

Taiwan launched the quintuple stimulus voucher program in September 2021, aiming in stimulating the post-COVID economy. With an upfront payment of 1,000 New Taiwanese dollars, registered consumers will receive coupons worth 3,000 New Taiwanese dollars to use in selected shops and service providers.
