As of February 2020, 71 percent of girls in the United Kingdom who used social media reported having changed their social media privacy settings to make their online platforms more private. Only 65 percent of boys said that they had done the same. Female respondents aged 15 years were the most likely to have ever change the privacy settings on their social networking profiles.
