As of 2019, a survey of children in Europe who used the internet found that boys were more likely than girls to participate in cyberhate. In Poland, eleven percent of male respondents stated that they had taken part in cyberhate aggression, by means of sending hateful or degrading messages or comments online against a person or a group of people. According to female respondents in Poland, five percent had taken part in such online behavior. In Romania, nine percent of boys and seven percent of girls said that they had participated in online aggression.
