POP advertising spending in Japan 2014-2023
The point-of-purchase (POP) advertising expenditure in Japan amounted to 146.1 billion Japanese yen in 2023. This constituted a decrease of about six billion yen compared to the previous year. As the source pointed out, the strong decrease observed in 2020 was related to the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic during that year, which prevented occasions for in-store demonstrations and led to the postponement and cancellation of product launches.
